Forget about Selling at the Top of the Market. The last 10 percent or so of the market needs to be forgotten. Look at that money not as leaving money on the table but as the expense of locking in a profit.
Sell more than a year in advance if profitable. When the good times get here let history be your teacher and lock down some excess for the lean years.
Sell enough to make a difference. Selling small amounts at profitable prices might give folks bragging rights but it takes courage to sell enough to effect your destiny.
Know what you will receive. Do not let the fine print of contracts you dont understand surprise you at settlement. Simple and straight forward contracts at a price work better than average basis fix later straddle premium whammy contracts.
To celebrate the 2002 80th anniversary of Stewart Grain Co., a challenge match with the Warren County Community Foundation was initiated. For every dollar donated to the Foundation (up to a limit of $5000.00) Stewart Grain matched a dollar. Then, using the Lilly Endowment current match, both those amounts were matched again! At year's end, $5000 had been donated to the Stewart Grain Challenge, Stewart matched that for a total of $10,000, then the Lilly match of $10,000 made a $20,000 increase to the unrestricted endowment of the Warren County Community Foundation.
The WCCF has 2 grant cycles every year where non-profit groups in the county can apply for project grants. Growing the foundation from within the county, by gifts and bequests, will benefit the various groups in the county over the years, thereby enhancing the lifestyle of our beautiful county!
Remember, a gift to the Warren County Community Foundatin goes on forever; the principal is never spent, just the earnings! Consider helping to make a difference in Warren County!
I am an American. That's the way most of us put it, just matter of factly. They are plain words, those four. You could write them on your thumbnail, or you could sweep them clear across this bright autumn sky. But remember too that they are more than words. They are a way of life. So whenever you speak them, speak them firmly, speak them proudly, speak them gratefully.
