2009 Crop non-GMO Soybean Program:

We would like to announce our Solae Non-GMO soybean program for the 2009 crop season. Premiums for this program will be substantially higher than last year. The program will be available for harvest delivery to our Long Point, Spires and Rutland locations, as well as a buyer’s call program for direct delivery to Cargill at Bloomington, IL.

Non-GMO Soybean Program:

Harvest delivery: $1.75 cent premium above the bid based from Cargill’s bids.
Buyer’s Call: $1.75 premium above the bid based from Cargill’s bids.
Early Signing Bonus: 25 cents per bu. if signed by January 15, 2009.

You may plant any non-GMO seed variety from any seed company. This will be an acre contract with a 20 acre minimum. Each load will be tested with a strip test prior to unloading. Growers must follow contract guidelines, sign and turn in certification form to receive the premium for accepted soybeans. The grower will be paid the premium at the time of settlement. Growers must retain seed receipts as proof of purchase for random audits. At this time, beans produced from bin-run seed will not be allowed in the program.

Other Important Considerations

Your bid will be based off Cargill-Bloomington’s cash bid. If they do not have the highest bid in our area, you may not realize the full premium. Each load will be tested before dumping to ensure purity of the soybeans. You may have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the test to be finished. If the load tests positive for GMO’s, you must dump the beans as regular commodity beans and receive no premium. You must take extra care in cleaning and flushing your equipment to reduce the risk of GMO contamination. Due to the difficulty in separating several different commodities at our facilities, you may be asked to dump in a slower dump pit or into an auger so that we may avoid GMO contamination. Acres will be contracted on a first-come, first served basis. When the acres are filled up, the contracting will be closed. Please call us to reserve your acres as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call us at your convenience.
