Farmers Edge participating elevators recommend and offer the following contracts to help you carry out profitable marketing plan.

  • Target Contract - a contract to sell a specific amount of grain for a specific delivery period if a certain
    price is reached.  This contract can be entered before harvest to ensure that your grain is sold if the market
    reaches the price you need.
  • Forward Contract - a contract to deliver a specified amount of grain at a specific time at a specific price.
    A Target Contract automatically becomes a Forward Contract if your price is reached.
  • Minimum Price Contract - a supplement to a Forward Contract or Cash Contract that adds flexibility and helps you make good marketing decisions by protecting you against underproduction on a Forward Contract or eliminating the risk of lower prices if you decide to stay in the market after harvest.
